Description

Mopah International Airport is an unique design case,The design strategy is purely celebrating the architectural expression of corner, entrance detail, crown etc. we played with colour full colour to strike attention and to devide focal point or the very large façade surface. The airport is designed with a very strong local approach, this service will reflect the face of Indonesia in the border area and into the air gateway between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea and Australia.

The concept of open plan design emphasizes the potential of Papua to progress regional development and tourism destination eastern Indonesia. The basic idea of the concept of the building is transforming the natural shape in Papua one of which is the element that is applied to the ant nest resembles a sculpture by scale formation towering above who are placed in the airport lounge area. It is intended to make the focal point of the building on the culture of Papua.

Besides the transformation form a bow and arrow is also reflected in the formation of the facade of the building on the land side as the main gateway to the departures area. Use of local materials and decorative implemented on many elements such as the interior of the building in public spaces and commercial areas.
